Hi, and welcome! We are Lynn Blair and Laina Eartharcher, two best friends and foodies from San Antonio, Texas, who like to eat, drink, be merry, and take day-trips around the region. We favor independently-owned mom-and-pop joints and local Texas-based wineries, and both of us have to be gluten-free, so that’s pretty much what you’ll see here!
The purpose, then, of this blog is to share with the world the treasures we find whenever we feel a craving for a favorite haunt, or whenever we feel adventurous and decide to go out on a limb and visit someplace new.
We should mention that we’re two casual people who have decent taste and like good food and wine (and other beverages), but we’re not professional reviewers, bloggers, reporters, or expert connoisseurs. We are who we are, and we’re content with that. 😉

Lynn Blair
Originating in 1987 from Roswell, New Mexico, Lynn Blair currently resides in San Antonio, Texas where he works as a heavy lift engineer for a major crane company and is a single dad to his beloved cat Sorcha.
Lynn was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at the age of 14 and later with Celiac disease at age 32. Though he used to enjoy heavily glutenated foods and heavy microbrew beers, he has enjoyed re-discovering his love of food and drink with great gluten-free foods and dry, heavy red wines (and maybe the occasional cocktail and/or neat rum or brandy).
Aside from appreciating great food and wine, Lynn’s other interests include tattoos, music, bowling, and auto racing. He also gets his kicks rocking his unique outfits, specifically with emphasis on vintage style short shorts and bringing the freedom and comfort of leggings to the male population.

Laina Eartharcher
Laina hails from San Antonio, Texas, having lived in several other places across North America. Growing up as a gypsy on a carnival circuit, she quickly developed the ability to differentiate between higher and lower quality food and beverages. Those who know her well have heard her say, “I know my good food” and tend to trust her taste in recommendations.
Laina’s food tastes range from sweet to savory to spicy, without too much salt, and her wine/other beverage preferences run on the sweeter and lighter side. She tends to shy away from bitter and sour flavors, as she is a bitter/sour super-taster.
Also diagnosed with gluten-related autoimmune disorders in 2009 and dual-diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and Autism Spectrum in 2016, she has gone through her fair share of self-discovery and has helped many others in similar situations.
Besides being a foodie, Laina’s other interests include music, writing, abstract art, astrology, health, science, world religions/philosophy, psychology, business, travel (especially road trips), cats, and reading/literature, and she only watches movies or TV shows “that I can learn something from”.
She is the writer and administrator of 11 other blogs, including (and best-known for) her The Silent Wave blog and her personal “miscellaneous fun-space”, Who Loves Kitty.
